The Arts

The Arts is an extremely broad Curriculum area and encompasses many different art forms including Dance, Drama, Media, Music and Visual Arts.  Each has its own specific characteristics and all make a unique contribution to children's learning.

Through active involvement in the Arts, children of all abilities are given the opportunity to develop a variety of ways to express themselves.  The Arts at Aldinga School Primary are alive and thriving.

Drama

Drama is an area where children can react to real and imagined events through role play, play making and performance.  It gives them the opportunity to explore and represent their ideas and feelings in a dramatic form.

Drama is offered as a specialist curriculum area at Aldinga, with years 1 -7 attending a Drama lesson each week.

In 2008 we are once again entering WAKAKIRRI.  Wakakirri is a National competition for Primary Schools.  In 2006 our school told the story of Ned Kelly through dance.  This year children will be involved in all areas including dance, costumes, set design and backstage.

Aldinga School is regularly visited by performers including Music is Fun Band and Taiko (Japanese) Drummers. These performances are well received by our students.
