Mathematics
At Aldinga students develop logical reasoning and
the ability to analyse and solve mathematical problems.
Mathematics is a creative activity involving inventing,
developing intuition and exploring ideas and applying
mathematical thinking to decision making and problem
solving.
At Aldinga students study Mathematics to:
- become more numerate, be able to choose and
use mathematics in everyday problems when appropriate
- analyse and solve problems using appropriate
strategies
- become competent in using mathematical skills
and processes
- accept challenges and take risks
- gain enjoyment and a sense of achievement
- relate Mathematics to other areas of study and
life outside the classroom
- develop skills in presenting and interpreting
mathematical information
