Mathematics

At Aldinga students develop logical reasoning and the ability to analyse and solve mathematical problems.  

Mathematics is a creative activity involving inventing, developing intuition and exploring ideas and applying mathematical thinking to decision making and problem solving.

 

At Aldinga students study Mathematics to:

  • become more numerate, be able to choose and use mathematics in everyday problems when appropriate
  • analyse and solve problems using appropriate strategies
  • become competent in using mathematical skills and processes
  • accept challenges and take risks
  • gain enjoyment and a sense of achievement
  • relate Mathematics to other areas of study and life outside the classroom
  • develop skills in presenting and interpreting mathematical information
